We spent som...Just as a note to anyone interested. We spent some time looking at possible locations that seemed like they should have a CBC and did not. Park City seemed like a great place to get Utah Birders out an birding a little bit more. Not a whole lot of people make it up there birding, and not a ton of birds are reported out of the areas around the city--but there is a ton of habitat and some great places to look for birds.<br /><br />For instance we found around 50 ponds in the count circle area, as you can see on this map:<br /><br /><a href="http://bit.ly/tioc6C" rel="nofollow">Ponds around the Park City CBC area</a><br /><br />With all this water there are bound to be some open patches that will undoubtedly attract a number of birds. And these aren't places that birders really ever check in December (or at least post about). Throw in the sagebrush habitat, the aspen forest, conifers, two reservoirs, feeders, etc and this could make for a very interesting CBC.<br /><br />The 18th of December doesn't interfere with any other CBCs, allowing participants to take part in the old ones as well as this new one if interested.Tim Averyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17632013488170310609noreply@blogger.com
